October 2011 - Wow time flies!

So, I realize that I have not updated this in ages. I have shifted to using Facebook more often, and that is where you will find more updated images/status of what the kids and I are up to. You can search for me as Erin Gustaveson Montgomery and send friend requests to get more frequent updates.

Eva turned 5 in October and 2011 has flown by. I can't believe that I am staring at the end of the year fast approaching. Where is the pause button???

We have had lots of changes this past year. Cole survived (actually more like his teacher survived) his kindergarten year and has moved on to first grade. He has a good friend of mine as a teacher and LOVES her. He is doing really well in school and is finally getting the hang of this "reading" thing. He has a great group of friends and is busy with soccer and other little boy activities.

Eva graduated from preschool (no more private school!) and started kindergarten in September. She loves her new "big girl" school and is having a great time. She has a really nice, patient teacher and is doing really well in school with her reading and math skills. She is still learning to behave herself at school and manners are coming along...but that is common at this age and overall she is amazing. (Says her Mommy...) She also started playing soccer this year and is really enjoying seeing her old preschool friends on weekends and all her new school friends at "big girl" school.

The kids and I moved out of our old house in September and have been adjusting to being on our own. Overall, they have adjusted well to having Mommy & Daddy living in two different houses and have just taken it in stride. In our new place they have their own rooms and are very excited about that, and at the old house they love seeing their cat and Daddy and having fun sleep-overs. Eric and I are transitioning to co-parenting and it has had its challenges. We are both doing well, and have survived so far.

February 2010

Wow...time sure flies! This year has started out busy and just kept right on! The kids and I spent New Years in Bass Lake at a cabin with friends. (Eric had to work) It was lots of fun, we went sledding at Yosemite one of the days and walked around Bass Lake the other days. It was very relaxing (relatively) and a good way to ring in 2010.

We started January by celebrating Eric's 38th Birthday and Erin's (gulp) 40th Birthday in January. Cole turned 5 in February, and instead of a party this year...we went with a bunch of friends from preschool to Bass Lake for a snow weekend. We had a great time, and the kids got to not only see snow...but we spent one of the days actually sledding while it snowed!

I've attached a couple photos from February's trip...but I will have to post the rest later. (There are some cute photos from the New Year's trip too!)

October 2009 - Eva is 3!

October is a very busy month for us! With Grandma's birthday, Eva's birthday and Halloween, the month tends to fly by. There were lots of activities this month with trips to the Pumpkin Patch, play dates, and all kinds of other adventures.

The kids' preschool had lots of fun activities and parties the day before Halloween. Eva and Cole are in the classrooms right next to each other now, so they get to play together on the playground. Eva loves being near her big brother and all his friends. I took lots of pictures of all the cute costumes on all their friends.

We had Eva's birthday party on Halloween, and it was great! (Very crazy, hectic, lots of kids, small house, but in all fun!) We had a party for the kids in our backyard then took all the kids trick-or-treating down our street. I'm not sure our neighbor's knew what hit 'em!

September 2009

September and summer is finally here! Ok, summer is actually over but our warm weather is finally here. The kids and I sent Labor Day weekend (4 days for us) at Carmel River Beach every day. We also had lots of play dates with our friends either at our house, their house and sometimes out in public! I'm sure those restaurants really appreciate a group of 8 children and their parents walking in the door!
